ELA Sites:
Georgia Standards with Lessons ELA 9-12 An amazing resource for locating specific lessons to use with specific standards within the CCSS. To find the lessons, click this link, then on the right-hand side choose the grade or literature course, and in its drop-down menu choose the link for Lit & Comp Guidance or Literature Teacher Guidance. The Guidance tab is what contains the PDF of each standard and corresponding lesson plan suggestions. (Cross posted from SCASL 1 PD wiki)

Wordia is a free resource that uses interactive video and games-based learning to teach students vocabulary. Educators can set school tournaments, and students can play fun learning games challenging classmates and other schools.

Knoword Knoword is a quick thinking game that helps boost vocabulary, spelling, speed of thought, as well as increasing analytical, observational and typing skills.

When you begin, you will be greeted with a single letter. Underneath will be a dictionary definition to a word, which will begin with the letter in the box. Fill in the rest of the word and be rewarded with points and extra time. The object of the game is to complete as many words as possible. All the definitions are randomly generated and if at any time you get stuck, you can simply click “skip” to receive a new word. After your time has expired you will be given a final score.
